The town of Bridgeport, city of Prairie du Chien and TEAM Engineering is announcing the start of a construction project on Vineyard Road located in the town of Bridgeport, Crawford County. The project is a complete reconstruction of 2,000 feet of Vineyard Road from Seymour Drive to Hillview Drive.

Hillview Drive will remain open at all times and is not impacted by the project.

The project will start today (July 18) and has an anticipated completion date of Sept. 30.

Vineyard Road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project starting July 20. The project will be broken into two stages in order to accommodate local traffic and businesses affected by the project and to reduce impact to those individuals as best as possible.

Stage 1 (Starting July 20) has an approximate duration of two to three weeks. It will be from Selch Avenue to Hillview Drive. This stage will utilize a full road closure in order to construct underground storm sewer and box culvert work.  No local or through traffic will be allowed on this section of the project during Stage 1 due to the nature of the project work. Vineyard Road from US 18 to Selch Avenue will remain open to traffic during Stage 1.   

Stage 2 will be from Seymour Drive to Selch Avenue.  This stage will be a full roadway closure but will remain open to local residential traffic and businesses only. This stage will allow access via Vineyard Road to either US 18 and/or Selch Avenue at all times for local traffic only.

During the project, through traffic will not be allowed.  Through traffic on Vineyard Road will be required to use alternate routes for the duration of the project.
