Geraldine (Geri) J. Christian passed away in her sleep on Nov. 17, 2017, at Clearview in Juneau, in the part of Wisconsin where she grew up.

 

She was born Oct. 25, 1940, and raised in Randolph. She was a cheerleader and majorette during her high school years. Following graduation, she attended beauty school in Madison and worked there for a time. She married Kenneth Dearborn at the Friesland Church where she was baptized. Later they moved to Prairie du Chien, where they owned and operated a beauty salon. Geri was a cosmetology teacher at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore and a leader of VICA. She served on the State of Wisconsin Cosmetology Examining Board for several years. She retired from her teaching career after more than 20 years, to then operate a beauty salon in Prairie du Chien.

 

Geri enjoyed photography, fishing, traveling and spending time with friends and family as well as her special cat, Peaches. She was active as a member of the Big River Long Rifles, Friends of the Villa, and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church while in Prairie du Chien. 

 

Geri is survived by her brother, Ronald (Doris) Christian, Randolph; her former husband, Kenneth (Sharon) Dearborn, Prairie du Chien; many nieces, nephews and their dear families; and numerous friends from her career, church and hobbies.

 

Geri was preceded in death by her parents; a brother in infancy; her brother, Merwin (Arlene) Christian; and her sister, Evelyn (Mike) Vander Galien.

 

Visitation for Geri will be held from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 First Street, Friesland, WI. A funeral service for Geri will be held at 11 a.m., at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery. Randolph Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
