Two-vehicle accident claims life of McGregor man
An April 12 two-vehicle accident outside Monona claimed the life of a McGregor man.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 10:35 a.m., reporting a two-vehicle accident on Highway 52, approximately a quarter-mile south of Highway 18.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, upon further investigation, it was determined a 2004 Freightliner operated by Dalibor Kadic, of Metairie, La., was traveling southbound when he was rear-ended by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup. The driver of the pickup, Francis Forst, 82, of McGregor, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
Assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Transportation, Iowa Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement, MFL Ambulance Service, Monona Fire Department, Central Ambulance Service and Milo’s Towing.
