Richard “Rick” Hyde, 51, of Guttenberg, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg.

Visitation was Saturday, June 2, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Committal services followed the visitation at Ceres Cemetery on Saturday, June 2, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson, with military rites by the Guttenberg American Legion Post #373.

Rick was born Sept. 24, 1966, in Guttenberg, the first son of Robert and Joyce (Berns) Hyde. Rick attended the Guttenberg school system, graduating in 1985, and after graduation he furthered his education by attending the University of Iowa and Upper Iowa University, graduating in 1997.

Rick entered the United States Army in 1990-1991, where he served as Wave Radar Repair during the Gulf War. In 1992 Rick entered into the U.S. Army Reserves and served until 1994.  Rick had a passion for music and spending time with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory arehis mother, Joyce Hyde; brother, Thomas (Candi) Hyde; nephew, Alex Hyde; niece, Carlie (Justin); aunt, Jean Green; cousins, Aaron (Kim) Green, Abby and Gunner Green, Sarah (Josh) Urmanski, Sawyer and Josalyn Urmanski; aunts, Faye Strayer, Julia (Darrell) Ardoin; uncle, Merle (Flo) Hyde; and very special friend, Kimbra Moser.

Rick is preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Jeanette Berns; paternal grandparents, Dale and Anita Hyde; and uncles, William Berns, Terry Green, Keith Hyde and Gordon Strayer.
