Gina Roys was once again re-elected president of the MFL MarMac school board at the board’s annual meeting on Sept. 10. Long-time board member Brian Meyer was elected vice president.
Other board members include Jonathon Moser, Tonya Meyer, Sharon Greener, Josh Grau and Collin Stubbs.
The board agreed to continue meeting the second Monday of each month, at 7 p.m. All meetings will be held in the high school media center at the Monona Center, excluding the dates in January, May and October, when they will be held in the library at the McGregor Center.
Meetings had previously been held at the McGregor Center in May and October only, but Greener felt another should be added.
“Because of facility discussions, I think it would be more convenient,” she stated.
Updates planned for baseball, softball dugouts
During his report, superintendent Dr. Dale Crozier proposed a plan for burying the dugouts at the softball and baseball fields and creating bleachers.
“I think it would make the campus more attractive,” he said.
Crozier said Tilson Concrete, of Luana, could complete one complex for under $17,000; there could be a discounted rate for doing both.
The school board gave the go-ahead to have both the baseball and softball complexes completed.
Crozier said there’s no specific timeline for the project, but he hoped it could be done yet this fall.
Ag department receives donation
Crozier said the agriculture department received a generous $1,000 donation in memory of Richard Moses, who was a long-time farmer in the area.
