Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben defeated visiting Kickapoo-La Farge 27-7 for a homecoming victory Friday night in Ridge and Valley action.

The Blue-Golds also secured the Ridge and Valley Conference title for the third straight season.

“Ashton Swanson had a great game with a very nice catch for a touchdown and an interception,” said SWS Coach Justin Goodrich. “Hunter Aspenson ran very hard and made some big plays. Our defensive line did a great job controlling the line of scrimmage, stuffing the middle, and forcing plays outside. These young men have played hard all season long. I’m very proud of this team for winning a third straight conference championship.”

There was no score after the first quarter.

SWS scored on a 44-yard run by Hunter Aspenson and the PAT was good as the Blue-Golds took a 7-0 lead in the second period. Carter Lomas had a 1-yard TD run and the extra point was good as SWS went up 14-0 at the half.

Ashton Swanson caught a 47-yard touchdown pass from Lomas to give the Blue-Golds a 20-0 lead after three quarters.

Aspenson went on a 67-yard scoring jaunt in the fourth period and the PAT was good as SWS increased the lead to 27-0.

KLF scored on a 5-yard pass and the PAT was good to make the final score 27-7.

Aspenson rushed 12 times for 2332 yards and 2 TDs for the Blue-Golds. Ethan Karnopp had 7 carries for 35 yards. Lomas connected on 4 of 13 passes for 80 yards and a TD. Swanson caught 1 pass for 47 yards and a touchdown. Aspenson had 1 catch for 21 yards.

Fifth-seeded SWS will travel to fourth-seeded Ithaca on Oct. 25 for a first round Division 7 playoff game.
