Prairie's Lee Steiger is by himself at the conference meet Thursday.

Max Anthony runs on a flat part of the course.

The Prairie du Chien cross country team competed in the SWC Conference Meet at Platteville on Thursday.

Girls:

The girls were looking to make a little noise at the conference meet. They certainly came to compete as 10 girls hit new career PR’s and an 11th hit a season PR as they headed to a 3rd place finish.

There’s a fire burning in my heart as Meg Katzung finished in 5th place, ran a new PR-19:55 and picked up First Team All-Conference. As the fire burns it’s bringing me out of the dark as Karly Jaynes finished in 8th place, ran a season PR-20:29 and picked up Second Team All-Conference. Finally, I can see crystal clear as Ava Hager nailed down 14th place, a new PR-21:45 and Second Team All-Conference. Don’t underestimate the things I can and will do as Teagan Radloff ran a new PR-20:20 and 18th place. See how I will leave you stranded at the start line as Sadie Torgerson continues her destruction and flew to another PR-22:25 and a 20th place finish. Go ahead and challenge me, I’ll give you a show as Ella Hager picked up 21st place and a new PR-22:27. Turn my run into treasured gold, reap what you sow as Jadyn Jenks lambasted the course and finished 25th with a new PR-22:52.

JV Girls:

The attacks on personal records continued as the JV girls brought home 2nd place.

My hands by my side, my knees weak, but my heart was strong as I set fire to the course as Shayla Straka picked up 3rd place and a new PR-23:13. The scars of my spikes on the course, they leave me breathless, I can’t help feeling I’m gonna break a new PR and Payton Key did so with a 23:16 and 4th place. As the ground crumbles beneath my spikes, Eowyn Earle picked up 12th place with a 24:12. I have no story to be told but I have heard one as I’m going to make your head turn and Alyssa Straka picked up 16th with a 26:15. Count your blessings to find what you’re looking for. I’m looking for a new PR as I open the next door. Kylee Rogers hit a new PR-27:04 and 17th place. You had me at the start, you had me in your hand, you played the beat and I ran it all as Carolina Herrera finished 19th and with a new PR-29:55 on the day.

Boys:

The boys also decided to make a little noise today as 4 of them had career PR days. Lighten up while you still can, don’t even try to understand why I run as Spencer DeHart continued his leadership with 19:36 and 30th place. Take it easy and don’t let the sounds of your own shoes drive you crazy as Max Anthony ran for another PR-19:55.2 and 32nd place on the day. I may lose, I may win, I will never be down again as Lee Steiger hammered out another PR-19:55.3 and 33rd place. Hurry, it’s waiting at the finish line as Bryce Priebe ran for 36th place with a 20:48. As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti, Ryan Wall snagged 37th place with a 20:52. Well, I’m standing on the start line and it’s a fine sight to see as Corbin Reade picked up 38th place with a new PR-20:59 on the day. I will be with my teammates at the beginning and the end, but solitary company is how I run as Ryan Waller snagged a new PR-22:54 and 46th on the day. It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away as I near the finish and Isaac Mara finished with a 24:15 on the day.
