Agatha C. Breuer, 108, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, Nov 1, 2019, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born on July 24, 1911, the daughter of John and Mary (Sandman) Bierman. 

Agatha married Fred Breuer on Nov. 15, 1932. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. She farmed with her husband for many years in the Glen Haven area before retiring to Bloomington in 1976; Fred passed away in 2004 after 72 years of marriage. Agatha was a faithful member of the St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in Glen Haven, and later also became an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. She especially enjoyed taking part in Ladies Society and helping with the seniors’ potluck and card playing activities. Agatha was a longtime homemaker and super cook, who made sure no family or guest ever went away hungry. She also created numerous quilts and made sure that each child and grandchild got one sewn just for them. Agatha was extremely proud of her family and number of offspring. 

She is survived by her children, Janette DuCharme, Luella (Ray) Martin, Joanne Martin, Gene (Betty) Breuer, Arnold (friend Mary Udelhoven) Breuer, Sylvester (Sue) Breuer, Charlotte Moris, and Elaine (friend Stan French) Moris; 61 grandchildren; 121 great-grandchildren; 51 great-great-grandchildren (including four sets of twins); a sister-in-law, Anne Wagner; and a multitude of nieces and nephews, and extended relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, Fred, Agatha was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor (Ronnie) Klema; granddaughter, Angie Hunt; two great-grandchildren; four sons-in-law, Richard DuCharme, Bill Martin, Gary Moris, and Ronnie Moris; and four brothers, Joe, Bill, Henry and John Bierman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in Gockel Cemetery, Glen Haven township. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. 

In lieu of plants and flowers, an Agatha C. Breuer Memorial Fund has been established. 

The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory of Bloomington is entrusted with her services.
