Mt. Hope cancels dairy parade

The Mt. Hope Dairy Day Parade and Ice Cream Social, scheduled for June 19, has been officially canceled by event organizers.

A statement was released this week, saying the decision was made after careful consideration. 

“Although we are thankful the current health situation is improving, it remains uncertain whether large event gatherings will be safe by that time,” said Lisa Riley, of the Mt. Hope Cardinals 4-H Club. “Nonetheless, we would like to acknowledge our local farmers and the businesses that support them. We have always known that the agricultural industry is essential, and we are grateful for their contributions to our community.”

The 48th Mt. Hope Dairy Day Parade is already set for next year, on Friday, June 18, 2021.
