Evelina “Lois” Puckett, 65, of Prairie du Chien, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1954, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Francis and Virginia (Birch) Sebastian.

Lois attended Prairie du Chien High School and later obtained a degree in accounting from Southwest Technical College. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish. Lois married Roger Puckett on Dec. 28, 1974, at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Prairie du Chien. She was employed at Wyalusing Academy for over 20 years. Lois was best known for her quick wit and loving heart. She possessed the ability to invoke laughter regardless of the situation.

The home she created with her loving husband Roger was always filled with joy and the voices of children—welcoming all into her home, some by relation and some not, to offer them love and care, making sure they left with full hearts and full bellies. She was a master in the kitchen and could pull together a delicious meal with whatever she happened to have on hand. Her love of gardening was a complement to her cooking. She valued her friendships and could often be found meeting up for a good gossip lunch with her dear friends Trudy, Betty and Melissa as well as other friends and former co-workers. Lois was a proud Packer and Badger fan and was sure to never miss an opportunity to cheer them on.

Above all, her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with. She poured herself into them and took great pride in the relationships she had built with each one. She was a pillar in her family and will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lois is survived by her husband Roger; her children Christopher (Emily Root) and Lacey (Adam Winger) Puckett; her grandchildren Desiree, Madison, Makenna, Tanner, Skyler, Jonathan and Wyatt; as well as her brother, William (Kathy) Christen; and sisters, Linda Johnston and Lynn Boland; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Brandon Sebastian.

Per Lois’ wishes, there will be no formal funeral services held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
