Allen Real Estate buys Rightway Realty

Allen Real Estate Company of Monona has recently expanded its business with the purchase of Rightway Realty in Guttenberg. Nathan Trappe, real estate broker for Allen Real Estate, told The Press, "The late Gary Willman's father started Rightway Realty back in 1958. Gary eventually took over the business and made it into the successful brokerage firm it is today."
"We are excited to have our third location open up in Guttenberg, adding to our additional offices in Monona and Strawberry Point. This purchase will allow my team of agents to better serve all of Northeast Iowa," he said.
Other members of the Allen Real Estate team include Randy Willie - broker associate, and realtors Megan Keehner, Ryan Johnson, Julie Tschirgi, Kerry Martin and Mark Meyer.
Trappe, and his wife, Missy, have five children — two sets of twin girls, Kinley and Trinly, age eight; Emerie and Kelbie, age five, and their youngest son, three-year-old Brayen. The family lives in Monona.
Trappe shared, "I have lived in the Monona area my entire life. I grew up as a farm kid, always helping family members on the farm along with working in local restaurants. After high school I started Allen Roofing & Construction, Inc. We originally did all types of construction, but eventually shifted our focus and did just roofing projects. I also started buying properties and renting them out shortly after starting the construction business."
"Allen Roofing & Construction will celebrate its 21st year in business this year. In the past three years the company has returned to offering construction and has even added general contracting to its list of services," he said with pride.
"In 2005 I was approached by real estate agent Steve Russett of Monona. Steve asked if I would be interested in getting my real estate license. Of course I jumped at the opportunity and worked under Steve until 2015. At that time Allen Real Estate Company was started," said Trappe.
The businessmen switched roles and Russett worked under Trappe until Russett's retirement. In 2019 Trappe purchased Keystone Real Estate in Strawberry Point, owned by Randy Willie. The broker associate has remained on board with Allen Real Estate and manages the Strawberry Point location.
The ambitious entrepreneur also owns Wausau Homes of Monona. The company builds stick-built homes, and covers a wide territory including Prairie du Chien, Wis., Cedar Falls and Dubuque.
Trappe commented, "It is very important when taking over an established business that you keep your standards high, and do your best to provide the quality service the customers have been used to receiving. Anyone can open up a new location, but there is a huge feeling of pride when you have the opportunity to take over a business that someone else put so much time into building."
He concluded, "Our three companies, Allen Real Estate, Allen Roofing and Construction, and Wausau Homes is a one-stop-shop for home and property owners. I could not do any of this without the help of my dedicated team of employees in all of my businesses. We are all looking forward to see what the new office in Guttenberg will bring!"
