Terry J. Lang

Terry J. Lang, age 72, of Harpers Ferry, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wis., after an extended illness. He was born July 31, 1949, the son of Leo and Mercedes (Schmitt) Lang Sr. He graduated from Wauzeka High School and went to work for General Motors. He met his lifelong partner Juanita Robbins and together they raised their family in the McGregor area.

Arlene A. Pollock

Arlene Ann (Schultz) Pollock, 89, of Elgin, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at Great River Care Center in McGregor. Arlene was born March 25, 1932 to Lloyd William and Aurelia M. (Heins) Schultz at the doctor’s office in Postville. She graduated from Postville High School in 1949. During Postville’s centennial year, Arlene led the marching band for parades through town. After high school, Arlene worked for her family’s restaurant in Postville.

MFL MarMac alumna earns American Degree—FFA’s highest achievement


MFL MarMac alumna Macie Weigand (front, center) has earned the coveted American Degree, the highest level of membership that can be achieved in FFA. Weigand was recognized at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., in late October. Weigand is pictured with MFL MarMac agriculture teacher and FFA adviser Sarah Wille. “This is the highest accomplishment for Macie and our chapter,” Wille said. “It’s a testament to who she is as a person.”
