William Henry “Bill” Koehn Jr., 89, of Elkader, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, at his residence. He was born October 26, 1925, in Communia to Rose (Behrens) and William Koehn. On February 8, 1958, he was united in marriage to Sharon Leete at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader.

Bill served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for Water Tower Paint and repair for 20 years in Clear Lake, IA. He also worked for the State DOT for 20 years prior to retirement.

Bill enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, gardening and telling stories.

He is survived by his special, loving, caring, thoughtful partner, Sharon, of 57 years (best cook and cake baker ever); daughter, Vickie of Iowa City and eight grandchildren.

Bill as preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jacqueline; two brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Elkader Public Library.
