Tatem Baures qualified for the Sectional Track Meet in Bangor in the 800, 1600 and 3200-meter runs.

 

Wauzeka-Steuben does 

well at regional track meet

The Wauzeka-Steuben track team turned in a sterling performance at the Boscobel Regional Track Meet Tuesday night. The Hornet boys’ team qualified individuals in three different events for the sectional track meet at Bangor on Friday. Connor Stenner qualified for sectionals in the pole vault. Drew Zimmerman qualified in the high jump and the 3200 relay team consisting of Joel Martin, Logan Lomen, Marti Soaquin Fluis and Drew Zimmerman also qualified. 

The Hornet girls also had many team members qualify for the sectional track meet. Tatem Baures led the way qualifying in the 800, 1600 and 3200-meter runs. Kylie Zimmerman qualified in the 100-meter high hurdles and 300 low hurdles. Allison Oswald qualified in the 200 and 400-meter sprints. Samantha Groom qualified in the shot put. 

An athlete qualifies for the sectional meet by placing in the top four in their event at the regional meet. The Wauzeka-Steuben Track Team will compete in the Bangor Sectional on Friday, May 29. The field events will begin at 3:30 and the running events at 4:15.
