Shirley L. Taylor, 85, passed away peacefully at her home of 49 years in Clive, IA on June 14, 2016. 

The family received visitors from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at Merle Hay Funeral Home. The funeral service was at 11 a.m. the same day followed by a reception and luncheon. A private interment will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens.

Shirley was born December 5, 1930, in Volga, Iowa to Sidney and Grace White. She married Paul Taylor of Volga in 1951. Shirley and Paul were blessed with four children.

Shirley worked for Dahl’s Food Stores in Clive for 23 years.  Shirley enjoyed her family with all her heart and her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul; her three daughters, Diana (Dave) Hennick of Johnston, Karen (Bruce) Webb of Clive and Sherri (Todd) Marker of Urbandale; 3 grandchildren, Kelli (Don) Holman of Waukee, Taylor Webb of Urbandale, Austin Marker of Urbandale; one great grandchild, Aidan Holman of Waukee; her brother, Bob (Alice) White of Elkader, IA; and her sister, Marilyn Ohm of Madison, MN. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Grace; son, John Taylor; brother, Wayne White; and sister, Evelyn Ohm.
