Edward Weidenman
Edward Wiedenman, 95, of Farmersburg, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Elkader Care Center, Elkader, Iowa. Edward Kenneth was born June 28, 1923 to Fred and Christina (Lieuau) Wiedenman in rural Monona, Iowa. He was baptized on October 31, 1926, and confirmed on April 10, 1938, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. Edward graduated from Luana High School in 1943. After working in Cedar Rapids, he returned home and began farming.
Edward was united in marriage with Mardella Kluth on January 17, 1949, at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. He farmed until his retirement and moved to Farmersburg. Edward did lawn mowing and snow shoveling at St. John Lutheran Church for many years and also served on the church council.
Edward is survived by his son, Randall (Diane) Wiedenman of Farmersburg, Iowa; two grandsons, Alan (Aimee) Wiedenman of Brooklyn, Iowa and Jeff Wiedenman of Prairie du Chien, WI; two great-grandsons, Jared and David; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kluth; and several nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Christina Wiedenman; wife, Mardella in 2010; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret (Harold) Olson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wesley (Ruth), Frederick (Nelda) and Leonard (Irene); and one brother-in-law, John Kluth.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, Iowa with a visitation from 9-11 a.m. before services at the church on Monday. Burial will follow at Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa.
