The MFL MarMac boys track and field team competed in two meets last week, finishing sixth of nine teams at Decorah and third out of seven teams in a home invite.

In the April 12 meet at Decorah, Karter Decker continued his string of success in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. The sophomore was first in the 200 with a finish of 22.95—over a second faster than the closest competitor—and he ran the 100 in 11.32 seconds, good for second place.

The Bulldogs also saw success in the 1600 meter run, as Cayden Ball and Brandon Christofferson secured third and fifth place, respectively. Ball completed the event in 5:02.52, while Christofferson came in at 5:28.46.

Callum Johnson was the team’s only hurdler, placing ninth in the 400 meter event with a time of 1:14.28.

In the relays, MFL MarMac’s top finish came in the 4x100, where Wyatt Powell, Decker, Cullen McShane and Colin Moses ran a 46.49, for third place. The combination of Callum Johnson, Cody Moses, Tristen Koehn and Christofferson was fifth in the 1600 distance medley. The Bulldogs were then sixth in the 4x200, thanks to a 1:44.53 time from Bryce Radloff, Powell, Cyrus Johnson and Koehn.

McShane turned in the top performance in the field events, earning fifth place in the high jump with an effort of 5 feet, 4 inches. A jump of 18 feet, 3 inches put Colin Moses sixth in the long jump. Josh Reichard and Jacob Trudo were 10th and 11th, respectively, in the discus with throws of 102 feet, 3 inches and 95 feet, 7 inches. Trudo took the eighth spot in the shot put after a throw of 38 feet, 10 inches.
