Harold Helmuth Landt, 83, of Luana, died Thursday, June 24, 2021. He was born Feb. 21, 1938, to Herman and Alvina (Mueller) Landt at the family home. Harold was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Schlueter. He attended Luana Consolidated Schools through the eighth grade.

 

Harold drove truck for G&M Transfer Trucking and then, from 1967 to 2005, Harold managed and bartended at The White Springs Supper Restaurant in McGregor. He was famous for his smoked ribs. Harold enjoyed playing pool and cards. 

 

Surviving Harold are his sister-in-law, LuNida Landt, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alvina Landt; sister and brother-in-law, Amanda (Clarence) Werger; brother, Lorenz Landt; and special friend, Ethel Mann.

 

Visitation and funeral service were held on June 29, at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, with Rev. Erika Lenth as the officiant. Burial followed at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Monona.

 

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona is assisting the family with arrangements.
