A 25-year-old Boscobel man died when he was struck by a train.

The body of Dylan Bausch was found along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks at the south end of Burlington Avenue Sunday at 6:38 a.m.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Bausch appeared to have been walking back from the Saturday night street dance to River of Lakes Resort when he was struck by a southbound train along the west-side tracks.

Bausch was declared dead at the scene by the Grant County coroner. The coroner had not determined Tuesday morning whether an autopsy will be performed, according to Sheriff Nate Dreckman.

Bausch’s death is the second from a train in the Tri-States recently. Robert J. Hilby, 60, East Dubuque, died after he was struck by a Canadian National train on the BNSF tracks near the end of Station Road east of East Dubuque in Menominee Township, Ill., June 24.
