Lenora Ann Skaife Heilmann passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, surrounded by family and her beloved companion, Daisy Mae. 

She was born Nov. 25, 1931, to John Manley Skaife and Mildred Anna Turner Skaife. Lenora attended Lancaster School. She married Robert Heil-mann, June 10, 1950. To this union, three sons were born: Charles, Terry and Douglas. They later divorced. She worked at 3M, retiring with 22 years of service. Lenora was very artistic and talented. She enjoyed drawing and painting, planting and watching her flowers grow. She never saw a flower she didn’t love. Another pastime she enjoyed very much was going to the casino and, years ago, to the dog track. She also enjoyed most of the game shows on TV. Lenora loved to dance. 

Surviving Lenora are her sons Charles (Linda) Cobb and Douglas (Vicki) Heilmann of Monona, Iowa, daughter-in-law, Donna Heilmann of Prairie du Chien; grandchildren, Amy Kendall (Allen Zirk) and Nathan (Rita) Heilmann of Montfort, Lisa Heilmann (Mike Brown) of Mt. Hope, Paul (Andrea) Heilmann of Prairie du Chien, and Jacob Heilmann of La Crosse; step-grandkids, Kristi (Mark) Havens of Marshalltown, Iowa, Heath (Chris) Landt of Monona, Preston (Sophie) Landt of Monona; great-grandchildren, Ky Kline (Amber Tieman) of Prairie du Chien, Jordan Kline, of Clermont, Iowa, Alliyah Schissell, of Prairie du Chien, Eli Heilmann, Dylan Heilmann, Ella Heilmann, all of Prairie du Chien, Nolan Heilmann, Eben Heilmann, Mallory Heilmann, all of Montfort, Max Zirk and Jon Zirk, of Kendall; step-great-grandkids, Trent (Andrea) Landt of Monona, Ryne Landt of McGregor, Layla Landt of Monona, and Bree Havens of Marshalltown, Iowa; step-great-great- grandkids, Benjamin Gordon of Monona, and Lyric Tieman of Prairie du Chien. Also surviving Lenora are her sister-in-law Leola Skaife; a very special significant other and best friend, Aubrey Blackburn of Fennimore; her beloved companion, Daisy Mae; and many, many nieces and nephews. 

Lenora was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert Heilmann; her son, Terry Heilmann; sister, Helen (Skaife) Pace; brothers, Richard, Raymond, Laverne, Robert, Lawrence and Jackson Skaife, Walter Dressen; sister-in-law, Marlene Skaife; and her parents, John Manley Skaife and Mildred Anna Turner Skaife Kirshbaum.

According to Lenora’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A Celebration of Lenora’s Life will take place at a later date. The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family.
