Julie Ann Schlueter, 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, in the comfort of her own home.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg, conductecd by Rev. Marvin Bries. Visitation was before services at the church.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

She was born the only child of Jerry and Donna (Miller) Balk on March 30, 1966, in Guttenberg.

Julie was united in marriage to Tom Schlueter on June 14, 1986, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg. To this union one daughter was born, Ashley Jean Schlueter

Julie worked for a number of years at Rockwell Collins until recently when she went to work as an Administrative Services Coordinator for Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals for the last 6 years

Julie’s life will forever be cherished by her husband of 35 years, Tom; her daughter, Ashley (Matt) Wimmer, father, Jerry Balk; brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws and many other relatives and friends. 

Julie is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Balk; both her paternal and maternal grandparents; in-laws, Albert and Regina Schlueter.
