Carolyn (Lindahl) Moen, 91, of Marion, died Jan. 6, 2022. 

Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation was before services at the funeral home.

Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carolyn was born March 5, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, and on Aug. 23, 1952, she married Burton Moen in Cedar Rapids. She attended UNI and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Nursing in 1952. She worked at St. Luke’s as a registered nurse for 10 years, and for Dr. William Basler for 18 years.

In 1988, Carolyn and Burton moved to their cottage on Abel Island, Guttenberg. They enjoyed RV travels and spent many winters in south Texas. She was an avid reader, huge Iowa Hawkeye, Green Bay Packer, and Nascar fan and enjoyed lunches with McKinley HS classmates.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Pamela) Moen; grandchildren, Lindsey (Ben) Woods and their children, Charli, Valerie and Lucy of Cedar Rapids, Corey (Alyson) and their son, Otto, of Des Moines. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Hugo and Mary Lindahl; sisters, Evalyn (Dean) Metcalf and Donna (Arnold) Piersall.

Memorial donations may be made to The University of Iowa College of Nursing, Shriners Children’s Hospital, the Salvation Army or Lovely Lane Methodist Church.
