MFL MarMac girls take down Trojans, tie with TigerHawks

Miranda Lang was the meet runner up against Turkey Valley, then took medalist honors in the tie with NFV.

Mackenzie Bachman shot a 66 in the April 28 tie with NFV.

Lauren Haberichter shot a 74 at Turkey Valley, but lowered her score to a 56 on MFL MarMac's home course.

The MFL MarMac girls golf team improved its record to 2-3-1 last week, following a win over Turkey Valley and tie with North Fayette Valley.

 

The Bulldogs edged the Trojans 271-274 in the April 25 meet at Jackson Heights Golf Course. TV’s Tess Franzen was the medalist with a 57, but MFL MarMac claimed the two next best scores, with a 60 from runner up Miranda Lang and 66 by Morgan Jacobson. Mallory Lang’s 72 and Wren Feuerhelm’s 73 rounded out the varsity score.

 

Lauren Haberichter, Clare Grau and Mackenzie Bachman all finished the day with 74s, while Olivia Martins shot a 78.

 

Bulldog Miranda Lang continued her strong season in the April 28 234-234 tie with NFV at Tri City Golf Course near Luana. The senior claimed medalist honors with a 48, three shots better than the 51 from Turkey Valley’s Claire Cummings, who was the runner up. 

 

Haberichter lowered her score to a 56 on the home course. Jacobson came in at 64 and Bachman 66. Other scores included a 72 from Grau, 75 by Mallory Lang, 81 from Martins and 90 for Kaylee Nuehring.

 

MFL MarMac has a busy schedule lined up this week, hosting South Winneshiek May 2, before playing at the Guttenberg Girls Invitational on May 3. The Bulldogs will then take on Postville May 5.
