Carver Blietz-Bentien ran the final leg of the distance medley relay in Monona on May 2. The team placed fifth in the event.

The MFL MarMac boys track and field team placed second at its home invitational on May 2. The Bulldogs racked up 82 points, just ahead of third-place Clayton Ridge with 78. Decorah cruised to the top spot with 216 points.

 

The field events were a big boost for MFL MarMac, including a first place effort from Kaden Stocker in the high jump and second place for Wyatt Powell in the long jump. Three Bulldogs placed within the top 10 in the shot put, with Cullen McShane second, Josh Reichard fifth and Aiden Schoulte eighth. Schoulte also finished 14th in the discus.

 

Multiple Bulldogs placed fifth or better in the individual running events, starting with a third-place time for Jacob Schellhorn in the 1500. Tucker Ruff and Izayah Streicher went third and fifth, respectively, in the 800, while Callum Johnson crossed the line fourth in the 400 and Logan Ross sixth.

 

McShane’s third place effort in the 100 led all MFL MarMac sprinters, and Hunter Kugel earned the 11th spot in that race. Powell and Stocker finished a respective fourth and fifth in the 200 meter dash.

 

Stocker also ran in the 110 meter hurdles, where he placed fourth. Johnson came in sixth in the 400 hurdles.

 

The Bulldogs’ best relay was the shuttle hurdle event, as Carter Streicher, Rylee Kugel, Ruff and Carter Stoddard combined for second. The 4x100 team of Powell, Caleb Nordheim, Carver Blietz-Bentien and Stocker placed fourth.

 

The 4x200, sprint medley and distance medley relays all crossed the line fifth. The 4x200 was made up of Rylee Kugel, Carter Streicher, Cyrus Johnson and Nordheim, while the sprint med included Rylee Kugel, Cyrus Johnson, Stoddard and Izayah Streicher. Cyrus Johnson, Stoddard, Schellhorn and Blietz-Bentien ran the four legs of the distance med.
