Donna Helen Holthaus, 88, of Colesburg, got her wings and went to walk with the angels on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Visitation and funeral services were Tuesday, June 7, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Edgewood.

Interment was at Zion Cemetery, Colesburg.

Donna was born on April 19, 1934, in Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Harbaugh) Hansel. She was raised in the Clayton and Delaware county area and was a 1953 graduate of Greeley High School.

On March 5, 1955, Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Arnold Holthaus. Five children were born to this union, Steve, Cathy, Joe, Susan, and Linda. Donna was a hard-working, proud farmer. She was truly an animal lover. She would say, “You can tell the size of a person’s heart by how they treat animals.” Donna was a strong, loving, and a good woman. She was loved and will be missed by many.

Survivors include her three children, Cathy (Ron) Kirby of Colesburg, Joe Holthaus of Colesburg, and Susan (Bill) Burgin of Strawberry Point; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fay Joanne (Bert) Hoffman of Edgewood, and one sister-in-law, Joanne Hansel of Dundee.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold Holthaus in 2020; one daughter, Linda Osterkamp; one son, Steve in infancy; two brothers, Kenneth Hansel and Junior Harold Hansel.
