Alice M. Ohlert, 80, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Bluff Haven Assisted Living Center in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Oct. 19, 1941, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Everett and Eula Mae (Hess) Snyder. Alice married her high school sweetheart, Philip Cornford in 1958.  He preceded her in death in 1967. She later married Martin Ohlert on Feb. 10, 1974. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2016. Alice was a talented drapery seamstress and ran the Countryside Workshop for several years, contracting to area furniture stores. She was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all. 

Alice is survived by her children, Russ (Nancy) Cornford, Randy (Cinda) Cornford, Robinlynn Fortier, Phillip (Penny) Ohlert and Bryon (Rachel) Ohlert; sister-in-law, Lee (Don) Gordon; brother-in-law, Tom (Bev) Cornford; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Philip and Martin; a sister, Mary Sue Picha; and a son-in-law, Andrew Fortier.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien. A private inurnment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
