Sign up a volleyball team, or purchased a lighted lantern for July 16-17 Rally on the River
The second annual Rally on the River Volleyball Tournament and Lighted Lantern Launch, July 16-17, has an extra special purpose this year.
Aside from raising awareness for the sport of volleyball in Prairie du Chien, the event is drawing attention to the dangers of radon exposure. Funds raised from every lighted lantern purchased for this year’s launch will go back into the community to purchase radon detection kits, help with radon mitigation and raise continued awareness.
This is all in memory of Kayla Mezera, a Prairie du Chien woman who passed away in March from lung cancer, after exposure to radon. Her family is honored to accept the funds raised in her name and share them with the community. For her full story, see next week’s Courier Press.
To purchase a lantern in honor of anyone who has made an impact on your life, or to register a team for either of the Saturday adult or Sunday high school girls volleyball tournaments, visit the event’s Facebook page. Under “details,” there are links to sign up or purchase a lantern.
