Mickey J. Phillips, 62, of Farmersburg, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Hawkeye.

Private family burial will be at Hawkeye Cemetery. 

Mickey Joe, son of Junior “Mike” Elsworth and Margaret (Fischer) Phillips was born June 28, 1960, in Fort Atkinson. He received his education in the Turkey Valley Schools. Mickey served in the United States Army from 1977 until being honorably discharged in 1983. During his service he was stationed in North Carolina, Germany, Texas and Washington. On July 5, 1984, he was united in marriage with Tracey Maser in New Hampton. Mickey began his working career as a farm aide, prior to working at Community Action, then Northern Ag in Marquette, and has been working at Brown’s R.V. in Guttenberg for the last several years. He enjoyed working construction, train collecting, wood-work, but most of all enjoyed time with his family.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Tracey of Farmersburg; sons, Wayne Phillips of Cresco, Christopher Phillips of Farmersburg, and Joseph (Randy Black) Phillips of Mason City; mother, Margaret Phillips of Waucoma; siblings, Tommy Phillips of Waucoma, Judy Phillips of Waucoma, Wendy (Rick) Caddell of Waucoma, Susan (Robert) Lahman of New Hampton, Margie (Kelly) Kleve of Waucoma and Steven Phillips of Waucoma; mother-in-law, Connie Paschal of McGregor; sister-in-law, Margie Bentley of West Union; brothers-in-law, James Maser of Greenfield and Curtis Maser of Lake Milles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Phillips; sister-in-law, Robin Wenthold; and four nephews.

Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
