The Prairie du Chien boys golf team traveled to New Glarus to the Edelweiss Country Club on Wednesday, May 17 for the 2023 Southwest Wisconsin Conference championship meet. The Blackhawks finished fourth out of six teams after posting a combined score of 387. James Reilly led the Hawks with a second-place finish after shooting an 84, two shots behind medalist Roman Johnson of Richland Center. Also competing for the Hawks were Logan Higgins (95), Tyler Steiber (102), Owen Achenbach (106), and Zach Mezera (108). PdC finished 27 strokes behind first place Platteville, 20 behind second place Richland Center and 17 behind third place River Valley.

It was a different story for the Hawks golfers on Monday, May 22 as PdC traveled to the Viroqua Hills Golf Course for the D2 Westby/Viroqua Regional. James Reilly once again led Prairie as he shot a 74 to finish three shots back of Brooks Hoffland of Westby/Viroqua for medalist honors. Tyler Steiber was second among Blackhawk golfers with a 98. Owen Achenbach (104), Zach Mezera (110), and Logan Higgins (116) rounded out the scoring for Prairie. The Hawks as a team though turned the tables on conference foe Richland Center and finished in fourth place out of ten teams with a 386, seven shots in front of the Hornets, who finished in seventh place.

The teams that placed in the top four spots at each regional meet qualified for the sectional meet, which will be held for this sectional next Wednesday, May 30 at the Prairie du Chien Country Club. This is the thirteenth time in program history that PdC boys golf has qualified for the sectional meet, and the first time since 2012.
