The MFL MarMac girls golf team won two meets and placed second at another last week.

 

The Bulldogs started Upper Iowa Conference play April 14, defeating host South Winneshiek 208-224. Hannah Jacobson shot a meet low 48 to come away as the medalist. Morgan Jacobson was the runner-up with a 52. Devon Meyer also turned in a 52, to place third, and Hadyn Meyer finished ninth after shooting a 56. Taylor Randall and Lily Johnson rounded out MFL MarMac’s scores with a respective 59 and 62.

 

The Bulldogs lowered their team score to a 195 the following night, in a quad at Waukon, but Oelwein edged them with a 187. Waukon finished third with a 221, and Postville did not field a team score.

 

D. Meyer led MFL MarMac with a 44, and placed third behind Oelwein’s Grace Lewis with a 38 and Grace Burg with a 42. H. Meyer shot a 48 to finish fourth after her sister, and H. Jacobson put up a 51 for sixth place. M Jacobson tied for seventh after posting a 52, and Jerica Wille and Randall finished a respective 14th and 15th with scores of 57 and 58.

 

The Bulldogs secured another conference victory on April 17, besting North Fayette Valley 196-206 at a blustery Tri City Golf Course.

 

D. Meyer matched the 45 shot by NFV’s Taryn Moser, but was able to earn medalist honors. TigerHawk Kassie Tilleraas was third with a 46, then the Bulldogs filled out spots four through six, after H. Jacobson turned in a 48, H. Meyer a 51 and M. Jacobson a 52. A score of 54 tied Randall for seventh, then Mariah Moser claimed ninth with a 59.

 

On the schedule this week was an April 21 meet at Prairie Links Golf Course, hosted by Wapsie Valley, followed by a triangular with Crestwood and New Hampton at New Hampton on April 22. The Bulldogs will wrap play April 24, with a UIC dual at Central.
