MFL MarMac girls participate in pair of track and field meets

The MFL MarMac girls track and field team competed in meets at Waukon and Monona last week. 

 

Sprints were the high points for the Bulldogs at the April 15 Waukon Girls Earlybird, with a second-place effort coming from Kensey Ball in the 400, while Addison Corlett was sixth in the 100. Lucille Kessler finished 16th in the 100, and Amelia Duffield crossed the line 13th in the 200.

 

Charlotte Meyer was MFL MarMac’s lone competitor in the distance races, claiming sixth in the 1500 and 10th in the 800.

 

Corlett was also the team’s only hurdler, where she leapt to 12th in the 100-meter event.

 

The Bulldogs’ best relay result was sixth place in the 4x200. They were seventh in the sprint medley.

 

In the field events, Audrey Ruff and Brooklyn Tonn were a respective 13th and 15th in the discus. Tonn threw her way to 12th in the shot put.

 

Rain shortened the April 17 MFL MarMac Coed Invite, meaning the smaller Bulldog squad participated in just four events. 

 

Corlett ran to sixth place in the 100-meter dash, and teammate Ruff was 18th. Ruff also competed in the discus, finishing 14th ahead of Tonn in the 18th position. Isla Henkes and Tonn were 11th and 14th in the shot put.

 

MFL MarMac turned in a seventh-place time in the 4x200 relay.

 

This week, the Bulldogs were at New Hampton April 21 and Crestwood April 22. The team will head to NFV on April 25.
