MFL MarMac continues to roll on golf course

The MFL MarMac boys golf team continued to tally Upper Iowa Conference wins last week, taking down both Clayton Ridge and Postville in the run up to the UIC meet on May 12. 

 

The Bulldogs handed the Eagles a 161-193 loss at Tri City Golf Course near Luana on May 5, after putting up the five best scores of the night. Quinn McGeough was the medalist with a 37, and Jaron Wille shot a 40 to earn runner-up honors. Jaxon Lamborn finished third at 41, then Wesley Corlett and Ben Krambeer tied with 43s. Jarett Hanson ended the meet with a 45, a shot back of Clayton Ridge’s top golfer, Seth Kregel.

 

MFL MarMac rolled to a 161-213 victory over Postville on May 8, again sweeping the top five positions. McGeough lowered his score to 36 to repeat as medalist, while Hanson turned in a 41 as the runner-up. Corlett and Maddox Hanson both shot 42s to tie for third, followed by Lamborn in fourth with a 43. Postville’s Dalen Knudtson took sixth with a 46, then Wille rounded out the Bulldog scores with a 47. 

 

After going unbeaten against conference teams all season, the Bulldogs tested themselves at the UIC meet at Jackson Heights Golf Course on May 12. They’ll start postseason play Wednesday, May 14, at Pleasant Valley Sports Club in Clermont.
