Against Clayton Ridge, Bulldog Devon Meyer was the meet medalist with a 40.

The MFL MarMac girls golf team remained perfect in Upper Iowa Conference meets last week, with victories over Clayton Ridge and Postville. The Bulldogs shot an identical 188 both nights, setting a program record. The previous mark was the 190 MFL MarMac shot the week before against West Central.

 

On May 5, the Bulldogs handily defeated Clayton Ridge 188-253, after posting the top six scores. Devon Meyer was the meet medalist with a 40, then sister Hadyn earned runner-up honors with a 46. Hannah Jacobson turned in a 50, followed by Taylor Randall with a 52. Morgan Jacobson and Mariah Moser rounded out the team scores with a respective 54 and 57. The Eagles’ top golfer, Addison Wilwert, shot a 60.

 

The Bulldogs followed that up with an even greater margin on May 8, defeating Postville 188-268 at Tri City Golf Course. D. Meyer repeated as medalist, this time with a 41, and M. Jacobson posted a 47 as the runner-up. H. Jacobson finished third with a 48, while Randall and H. Meyer tied for fourth with scores of 52. Moser shot a 61, tying Postville’s Carlie Knudtson for sixth place. 

 

MFL MarMac was at the Guttenberg Golf and Country Club for the Upper Iowa Conference meet on May 13. Postseason play gets underway Friday, May 16, with Class 2A regionals at New Hampton Golf and Country Club.
