Matching his sectional jump of 12’6”, River Ridge junior Ren Bowen finished in a tie for tenth place last Saturday in the division 3 boys pole vault competition at the WIAA Track and Field State Championships.
Bowen, who qualified for the state meet with a jump of 12’6” at the Bangor Sectional, entered Saturday’s state competition seeded 12th of 16 total competitors.
At the state meet, 11 of the 16 cleared 12’6”, but only eight made it over 13’0”. The winning vault was 14’3” buy Athens senior Kyle Schreiner.
Also in the D3 competition was Boscobel junior Cameron Hogan, who finished sixth at a height of 13’0”.
