The Prairie du Chien/River Ridge/Seneca girls soccer team traveled to Mount Horeb last Thursday, June 5 for a D3 regional semifinal with the No. 10 seed Hawks looking to make some noise against the No. 7 seed Mount Horeb Vikings.

The Vikings got the scoring started in the first half with a freak goal at 20:53 in the first half before adding a second goal at 24:23 in the first half to go up 2-0 on the Hawks. The score would remain the same at halftime. The score remained 2-0 until the 66th minute of the game when the Vikings added a third goal to go up 3-0. But the Hawks were not about to go away quietly as senior Jasmine Olmstead broke through a group of Viking defenders (including the goalkeeper) with a goal at 76:00 for the Hawks first postseason goal since 2018 and just the third all-time in program history (2009 being the first time).

Mount Horeb would add one final goal in the 79th minute on a penalty kick as they would hold on to defeat the Hawks 4-1. The Hawks finished the season with an overall record of 6-7-2 after ending the regular season in fourth place in the SWC with a 4-4-2 record.

The Hawks will graduate seven seniors - Tessa Czajkowski Higgins, Olmstead, Allison Mathies, Kayli Kruk, Audrey De Anda, Serena Corelli and Ava Forde.
