March 5, 1938 -July 15, 2025

Raymond L. Kittle, age 87 of Prairie du Chien, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Caretta Senior Living in Holmen. 

He was born on March 5, 1938, to Earl and Alpha (McCabe) Kittle. Raymond married Sandra Schneyer on June 21, 1958, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. After his military service, he went to work for the Pines Radio and TV, then Sunbeam Bread Company. 

In 1967, Ray began his employment at 3M Company in Prairie du Chien and worked for 27 years until his retirement at age 55. After retirement, he couldn’t stay away from the golf course and took a summer job mowing the fairways and later went to work for Wolf Machine Shop for five years until he fully retired at age 62. 

Ray was a handy man who could fix anything, loved to golf and play poker with his golf buddies, and was an active member of the Prairie du Chien Country Club. 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Sandy; children Jeffrey Kittle, Luanne (Scott) Sobkowiak, Timothy (Gay Lynn) Kittle, grandchildren Brady Dockendorff, Kennedy Kittle, step grandchildren Joseph (Nikki) Dockendorff, Jennifer Dockendorff, Jennifer Beeler, Levi (Hannah) Sobkowiak; step great grandchildren Ruby, Ryan, Ruger, Wesson, Roman and Oaklynn and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Harry and Myles; five sisters Ruth, Florence, Earla, Wilma, and Bonnie, his brother-in-law Carroll Paulson and nephews Earl Joseph Kittle, Larry Kittle and John (Junior) and William Hummel and nieces Judy Luloff and Sue Marshall.

The family is incredibly grateful for the loving care, compassion and support provided by the caretakers at Caretta Senior Living during Ray’s residency and are thankful that his final days were ones of comfort, peace and dignity.

A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, July 23, at 1 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, Pastor Andy Doll officiating with private inurnment at a later date.
