November 29, 1967 -August 19, 2025

Deena Kay Schmid, age 57 of Boscobel and formerly of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025 following medical complications with surgery. 

She was born at Wilson Army Hospital in Fort Dix, New Jersey on Nov. 29, 1967, daughter of John and Sharon (Coplien) Schmid. Deena was a 1987 graduate of Albany High School. She loved going gambling, visiting with family and friends, and camping. She was a member of the Wauzeka Methodist Church, and was a kindhearted person who loved animals. She was also an avid bowler who made numerous trips to the state bowling tournament and often left with an award. Deena will be remembered as having a wonderful sense of humor and a kind soul.

Deena is survived by her sister Danelle (Todd) Schmid of Boscobel, nephew Tucker Schmid-Cox of Boscobel, bonus nieces and nephews Nathan, Emma, Aiden, Kaden, and Peyton; special second family, the Cervens (Rhonda, Greg, Joe, Maria, Xander, and Jim), along with other relatives and friends. Deena was preceded in death by her parents John and Sharon Schmid.

The memorial service for Deena will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Wauzeka Methodist Church, 607 E. Main Street, Wauzeka with Rev. Lance Wetter officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Highland Cemetery in Monticello. 

Following the graveside service, a visitation and reception will be held at the Monroe VFW Hall from 2-4 p.m. Online condolences can be offered at www.kendallfuneralservice.com.
