Five Central volleyball players have earned all-conference honors in the Upper Iowa Conference’s small school division. Brylee Erickson, Katie Royer and Alivia Wiley were named to the first team, while Oakley Armstrong and Ella Frieden were second team picks.
Erickson, a junior, played in 35 matches for the Warriors. She ranked second on the team and third in the UIC’s small school division with 231 assists and also added 52 kills. Defensively, Erickson was second among Central players and third in the conference with 259 digs. She finished the season with two blocks. From the service line, Erickson connected on 224 of 258 attempts, for an 86.8 percent efficiency, and led the Warriors with 40 aces. That total was sixth most in the UIC small school division.
Royer played in 35 matches her senior season, in which she led the Warriors and the conference’s small division with 294 assists. Her 162 kills and 283 digs were tops for the team and second in the UIC, and she also netted 12 blocks. Royer was one of Central’s top servers, coming in at 90.2 percent after making 240 of 266 attempts, with 31 aces.
Wiley, also a senior, was another of the Warriors’ top kill threats. Her 157 were tied for second most on the team and third most in the conference. She also chipped in 17 assists. As a defender, Wiley had the third most digs on the team, at 213, and was third in blocks with 18. Additionally, Wiley had Central’s top serve efficiency—and second best in the UIC small division—at 95.1 percent. She made 309 of 325 chances, including 34 aces.
Armstrong represented the Warriors in 19 matches, finishing with 44 kills and six assists offensively, as well as 148 digs and one block on the defensive side. From the service line, the senior was successful on 91 of 101 attempts for a 90.1 percent efficiency, and landed seven aces.
Frieden played in 35 matches her sophomore season, tying for second on the team and third in the conference’s small division with 157 kills. She supported the Warrior defense with 125 digs and a team-high 30 blocks. That was also third most in the UIC. Frieden hit 188 of 219 serves this season, coming in at 85.8 percent efficiency, and had the second most aces among Central players with 35.
