The McGregor-Marquette Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards dinner at Backwoods Bar and Grill in McGregor on Nov. 12.
Business and community members connected with one another, and chamber director Mary Anderson shared a photo slideshow highlighting chamber accomplishments from the past year, as well as events and promotions and social media posts that performed well.
The evening concluded with a presentation of awards:
The Alexander MacGregor Award for progressive leadership was bestowed on The Left Bank Shop and Gallery (McGregor-Marquette Center for the Arts), which has cultivated creativity in McGregor since 2008.
The Lena D. Myers Award, which recognizes someone who contributes greatly to preserving the historical heritage of the area, was given to Audrey Posten, editor of the Times-Register newspaper and decade-long member of the McGregor Historical Society.
Given in appreciation of devotion and dedication to supporting community efforts, the James King Award was presented to Mar-Mac Human Powered Trails, a volunteer group developing a shared used recreational trail system for hiking and biking.
The Longevity Award, in celebration of many years in business, went to Eagles Landing Winery, which this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
