Alyssa Sylvester and Holly Purman from Tea Alley hold two “Lit Teas”—their product that offer customers a “clean, healthier source of energy.” They celebrated their grand opening over the weekend and were pleased to see the community’s excitement.

Tea Alley, Elkader’s newest hub for nutritional drinks, celebrated its grand opening over the weekend at 200 S. Main St.

Tea Alley offers Herbalife “Lit Teas” that contain vitamins B6, B12, C, biotin and energy and metabolism boosters. The drinks provide antioxidant support and aid digestion, with less than one gram of sugar, zero grams of fat and six to eight carbohydrates.

Booster additions include aloe, collagen, protein, fiber, creatine and pre-workout options, allowing customers to tailor drinks to their individual needs.

The regular menu features a variety of fruit and tropical flavors, along with rotating seasonal and holiday-themed drinks. Caffeine-free and kid-friendly options are also available, along with to-go packet versions of the Lit Teas for purchase in-store.

Holly Purman, an owner of Tea Alley, said the drinks are “a clean, healthier source of energy that are gaining popularity all over.”

After the previous tea store in Elkader closed, Purman said there was still a demand for a tea and nutrition storefront in town. She became a distributor and sold to-go packets out of her bridal shop while considering the idea of opening a storefront. After a year of distributing and learning more about the business and products, she decided to take the leap.

Purman said she is excited to offer the community a healthier alternative and create a place where her son and daughter can work.

Tea Alley’s menu and hours can be found on its Facebook page, Tea Alley – Elkader.
