Bonnie Syverson, 93, of Elkader, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Bonnie was born on March 25, 1932, in Elkader, the daughter of Ramon and Greta (Lenth) Boots. She was united in marriage to Raymond Syverson on July 31, 1951, in Elkader.

 

Bonnie enjoyed attending Eastern Star, participating in Peace Church activities, including the church choir, and traveling with her husband. She loved spending time with her friends and family. If the deck lights were on, you stopped.

 

Bonnie is survived by her children, Vicky Debes, Scott (Victoria) Syverson and Debbie Macke; grandchildren, Heidi Aulwes (Mark Osterhaus), Libby Debes, Adam (Naomi) Macke, Ben (Amanda) Macke, Tyler (Allyson) Macke, Dallas (Ramon) Gonzalez, Isaac Syverson and Lucy (Mitchell) Lillie; and 15 great-grandchildren.

 

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Gene Boots; and great-grandson, Judson Osterhaus.
