Intermittent lane closures on Iowa 76 begin June 20

A hot-mix asphalt pavement resurfacing project on Iowa 76 from the Clayton/Allamakee County line to Allamakee County Road X-32 will require intermittent lane closures beginning on Monday, June 20 until mid-November, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.

PdC council approves new parking guidelines for Parkers lot downtown

The Prairie du Chien Common Council approved an ordinance, June 7, regulating downtown parking in the Parkers Parking Lot, behind the public library, in Prairie du Chien.

Up until this time, public parking has been allowed in every stall of the lot. The new ordinance establishes slightly different guidelines.

High-speed chase ends with roundabout crash in Prairie du Chien

On Sunday, June 12, at 12:07 a.m., Prairie du Chien Police Officers were made aware of a vehicle pursuit that was initiated by a Crawford County Sheriff’s Department deputy on Highway 27, east of the city. The sheriff’s deputy terminated the pursuit because he lost sight of the suspect vehicle, though a direction of travel and description of the suspect vehicle was provided to city police.
