sweeps Riverdale

Top seeded Seneca swept visiting eighth-seeded Riverdale three games to none in Division 4 Regional volleyball Tuesday night. 

Seneca won by scores of 25-18, 25-9 and 25-18 to advance in the playoffs. They will host No. 4 Ithaca on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the regional semifinal.

Seneca wins Ridge and Valley title

Seneca swept visiting Wauzeka-Steuben three games to none in a Ridge and Valley volleyball match Thursday night. 

The victory secured the conference championship for the Seneca girls who improved to 11-0 on the season and 7-0 in conference action. 

Wauzeka-Steuben fell to 3-10 overall and 3-4 in the Ridge and Valley.

The Prairie du Chien Cross Country team competed well at the Southwest Wisconsin Conference meet at River Valley Thursday afternoon. The girls’ team placed fourth and the boys’ team sixth in the very competitive conference.

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawk soccer team captured the Southwest Wisconsin Conference title on Thursday night with a decisive 6-0 victory over River Valley.  

It was the final regular season game with special recognition to the seniors.

PdC soccer team beats Dodgeville

The Prairie du Chien boys soccer team hosted Dodgeville Monday night on the Bluff View pitch.  

The teams had split their first two meetings making the match a must win for the Blackhawks to stay in the SWC lead.  

Prairie took a quick lead at 9:37 when Jon Dyer found Jack Stoeffler open on the left side and a quick tap gave PdC a the first score.

Kickapoo Invitational

The Prairie du Chien cross country team traveled to Kickapoo High School on Thursday for the Kickapoo/LaFarge Invitational. The girls’ team ran incredibly well against the 6 other schools and came home with a first-place trophy. The girls took four of the top 5 spots to win the meet with just 20 points, 15 points ahead of Richland Center/Ithaca.

Pecatonica-Argyle defeated host River Ridge 48-6 in high school football action in Bloomington Friday night. 

P-A scored on a 10-yard pass and a PAT to go up 7-0 in the first quarter. P-A scored again in the quarter on a 68-yard pass to take a 13-0 lead after one period.

Seneca sweeps Wauzeka-Steuben

The Seneca volleyball team defeated host Wauzeka-Steuben three games to none in a Ridge and Valley contest Monday night. 

Seneca has a 6-2 overall record and a 3-0 conference record. Wauzeka-Steuben is 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the Ridge and Valley. 

Wauzeka-Steuben will travel to Kickapoo on Sept. 29. Seneca will travel to De Soto on Sept. 29.
