The team traveled to North Crawford on September 22nd to take on the Trojans. The Royals came to play that night winning all three sets with a score of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-5. Strong serving led to Addison Davidson recording eight aces, followed by Lily Payne with six. Leading the attack was Anne Manning with 17 kills followed by Rita Sime with six and Violet Varo, Sophie Clark and Lily Payne with four each. Setting those hitters up and recording 33 assists on the night was Davidson. The defense was led by Emma Manning recording 8 digs.

Next up for the Royals last Thursday, Sept. 24 was the second match up with the Weston Silver Eagles. The Royals made quick work of the visiting Silver Eagles in three sets and were able to pull away with scores of 25-14, 25-8, and 25-5.

Davidson recorded 7 aces on the night. Leading the attack was Anne Manning with 14 followed by Violet Varo with 7. Addison Davidson recorded 34 assists on the night, and Emma Manning recorded 16 digs on the night. Those two wins kept Seneca undefeated in conference play.

On Saturday, Sept. 26th, the team traveled to Richland Center to take on five other teams in a round robin style tournament. First up was Madison Country Day School from Waunakee. The Royals made quick work of this team winning both sets by scores of 25-6 and 25-8.

Next on the schedule was a strong Riverdale team. Seneca dropped the first set 21-25 but was able to bounce back and win the next two with a score of 25-13 and 15-11. The third round found Seneca to play the host school Richland Center. The Royals used some scrappy play in order to win both sets against the Hornets with scores of 25-21 and 25-18.

The fourth game of the day was against Necedah. The Royals came out strong and won both sets 25-11, 25-11. The fifth and final game of the day was an improved Prairie du Chien Team. The Royals were able to win each set with a score of 25-19 and 25-17. Individual stats were not available at the time. Seneca was able to come away with a 5-0 record and won cupcakes for the achievement. The girls played very strong defense and continued to play as a team to win these matches. Following last night’s road match at Wauzeka-Steuben, the Royals will host De Soto tomorrow night at Seneca High School. The Pirates were the only other undefeated team in Ridge and Valley Conference play heading into this week.
