W-S Track competes at Fennimore, Hillsboro Invites

Tracksters from Wauzeka-Steuben were back in action at a pair of meets this past week. First up for the Hornets was the Fennimore Invitational last Monday, May 4. The Hornet boys finished in 17th place out of 18 teams with 6.0 points, while the W-S girls placed 11th with 24.0 points.

Placing in the top-10 for the Hornets were -
Boys 300 Meter Hurdles - 3. Julius Cooley (45.35).
Girls 400 Meter Dash - 3. Isabella Bunders (1:06.96).
Girls 3200 Meter Run - 5. Alayna Martin (14:59.23).
Girls 4x800 Meter Relay - 7. Martin, Bunders, Stella Walz and Brynlee Benoy (12:07.38).
Girls High Jump - 4. Martin (J4-10.00).
Girls Pole Vault - 2. Emma Udelhoven (8-06.00).

The Hornets traveled to Hillsboro three nights later for the Tiger Invitational. W-S boys placed sixth out of six teams with 1.0 point and the girls team took fifth place with 42.0 points. Placing in the top-10 for the Hornets were -

Boys 100 Meter Dash - 8. Cooley (12.92) and 10. Richard Bryant (14.08).
Boys Discus - 10. Daniel Bryant (79-04).
Girls 200 Meter Dash - 2. Benoy (32.27).
Girls 400 Meter Dash - 3. Benoy (1:13.10).
Girls 800 Meter Run - 3. Martin (2:58.54).
Girls 1600 Meter Run - 3. Martin (6:53.26).
Girls High Jump - 2. Martin (5-00.00) and 6. Udelhover (4-06.00).
Girls Triple Jump - 7. Benoy (26-10.50).
Girls Discus - 6. Chloe Manning (64-11).

The Hornets returned to competition this past Monday, May 11 at the Viroqua Invitational before competing at the annual Sparky Reynolds Invite in Boscobel this Friday.
