Georgia Jessie Copsey (age 96) passed away on Oct. 12, 2024 at the Aurora Medical Center in Aurora, CO. She was surrounded by family.  

Georgia was born Jan. 22, 1928 in Ferryville. She graduated from high school in Lansing, Iowa.  

Georgia married Don Copsey, Dec. 3, 1947. Don and Georgia lived in Mt. Hope, WI where Georgia became the postmaster of Mt. Hope. Don and Georgia were active members of the Prairie du Chein Country Club and enjoyed many golf outings. Georgia was an active member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, gardening, embroidery, and going to lunch with her sisters and sister in-law. Most of all, spending time with her family. Georgia had a good sense of humor, she loved to laugh, she was a kind, and loving soul. She will be missed dearly. 

Georgia is survived by her son Randy Copsey of Aurora, Col. Three grandchildren Chad Copsey of Aurora, Clint Copsey of Denver, Col., Cassie (Miguel) Zamora of Commerce City, Col.

Two great grandchildren Austin and Lucas Zamora. Her brother Gary (Helen) Lawrence of Westminster, Col., sister Margaret (Peggy) Ketterer of Chillicothe, Ill. and daughter in law (Div) Maxine Copsey of Denver.  

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don Copsey, brother Paul Lawrence, sister Joyce Kleven, brother-in-law Roy Copsey, sister-in-law Bev Copsey, brother-in-law Floyd Kleven and brother-in-law Bob Ketterer. 

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026 at noon at the Methodist Church in Mt. Hope Wisconsin. Luncheon and Burial to follow
