James (Jim) L. Martin, passed away August 21,2026 in Davenport, Iowa. He was born January 11, 1940 in Eastman to the late Leonard and Loretta (Foley) Martin of Eastman.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am October 21, 2026 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Eastman, Wisconsin. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic cemetery.

Jim attended Eastman Grade School, Seneca High School, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was an Army veteran.

After retirement Jim volunteered at the Chicago Botanic Garden working on prairie restoration - a passion of his. He sang with church and community choirs and was one of the go to family members for anyone doing family genealogy.

Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years Elizabeth (Ostby), son Jeffrey (Sharon Bolt) and granddaughter Nicole; sisters Margaret (the late Ed) and Ann (Larry) Scheckel; sisters-in-law, Rita Martin; Kathleen (Roger) Schorr; and brother-in-law Peter Kuhlmann along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Rachael, brother John Martin, sister Mary (Gurnee) Bridgman, brother-in-law Ed Scheckel and sister-in law, Patricia Kuhlmann.
