This past week was light one schedule wise for the Gays Mills Grizzlies legion team with only one game. The Grizzlies traveled to Stoddard Village Park last Thursday, June 25 to take on Stoddard Legion Post 315.

The hosts took an early lead, scoring once in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Stoddard would add additional runs in the bottom of the third and fifth innings to extend the score to 3-0. The Grizzlies would break up the shutout in the top of the sixth inning when Jack Gallagher scored on a passed ball with two outs in the inning. Stoddard would get that run back in the bottom of the sixth inning however to make the score 4-1, which would end up being the final score.

Kaden Roberts (three runs allowed (two earned) on eight hits and one walk with five strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched) started on the mound for the Grizzlies and took the pitching loss. Gallagher (one run allowed on two hits and zero walks with one strikeout in 1.1 innings pitched) finished the game on the mound in relief of Roberts.

The Grizzlies (3-3) offense was held to two hits in the loss, a single by Gage Wall (1-for-3) and a double by Miles Kandler. Gays Mills heads to Viroqua tonight to take on Viroqua in a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. before hosting a doubleheader against Prairie du Chien next Monday, July 6 starting at 5 p.m. in Soldiers Grove.
