Annette M. Powers, 87, of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 30, 1938, in Kenosha, the daughter of LaVern and Ila (Kramer) Gentes. She was the oldest of six children. Later, her family moved to Prairie du Chien, and Annette grew up in her current home. Annette graduated from Prairie du Chien High School. She excelled in cheerleading, basketball, and school plays. Annette married John Powers on October 25, 1958. Together, they built a life of happiness, hard work, and family memories. They started Powers TV in 1963 and ran the business for over 40 years. Annette was the third generation to run a business in her home.

Annette is survived by her son Tim (Sue) Powers and daughters Penny Powers (Bob Pasker) and Becky (Brad Trautsch); 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 step great-grandchildren; a sister Pat (Max) Hughs; three brothers Jim Gentes, Dick (Mary) Gentes, and Gary (Meredith) Gentes; brother-in-law John Wachter; sister-in-law Clara Powers; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband of 63 years John Powers; an infant son Jessie; her parents Ila and LaVern Gentes; her sister Mary Jane Gentes; two brothers-in-law Gordon and Terry Powers; and two sisters-in-law Shirley Powers and Margaret Wachter.

Annette will be remembered as kind, spirited, and spunky. Her will, drive, and faith always pulled her through.

A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating, with interment in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
