In last Tuesday night’s tightly contest match against visiting Potosi, it took five sets to get by a scrappy Potosi squad, where each team took turns winning every-other set until it all came down to a fifth-and-deciding set to 15.

The Chieftains took the first set by a score of 25-21, before River Ridge regained momentum with a 25-17 victory in the second.

With a 25-16 victory in the third set, Potosi took control of the match, but the Timberwolves found away to pull out the victory with a 25-16 win in the fourth, followed by a decisive 15-5 victory in the fifth.

Senior Erin Adrian had a great all-around match, finishing with a team-high 13 kills and 16 digs to go along with four assists and one block.

Junior Ava Nies chipped in 11 kills and a team-high three blocks in the win, while sophomore Layla Gage and senior Alaina Clark each had 12 digs.

Senior setter Mallory Crubel distributed a team-high 18 assists to lead the River Ridge offense.
